LØRZ®
Established 2009
Punk Rock Guitar Couture
Designed and conceived by Martin I. Ritter
LØRZ® was conceived in 2009 as a deliberately expressive lifestyle brand addressing a growing demand for bold, punk-inspired instrument protection with clear visual attitude and presence.
The brand translates raw, rebellious aesthetics into contemporary gig bags that combine striking appearance with serious, dependable protection. LØRZ® exists as a focused body of work, intentionally narrow in scope, prioritising character, identity, and recognisability over expansion or variation.
The name LØRZ® is derived from the family name of Martin I. Ritter’s grandmother and is used here as a historical reference.
Design Philosophy
LØRZ® is guided by the belief that protection can be uncompromisingly bold without sacrificing function.
Rather than neutral design, the collection embraces strong visual language, dark tones, metal detailing, and distinctive tartan surfaces as a central design element. These tartan patterns form a recognisable signature within the range, reinforcing the brand’s punk attitude and visual identity.
Every design decision balances visual impact with structural responsibility, ensuring that appearance is always supported by real-world performance.
Protection is engineered into the construction. Padding, reinforcement, and internal support are integral to each model, allowing the bags to perform reliably during transport, touring, and daily use while maintaining their distinctive visual identity.

The Collection
LØRZ® was developed as a tightly focused punk-lifestyle product range rather than a broad system.
The collection is designed exclusively for fretted instruments, including classical guitars, acoustic guitars, electric guitars, and electric basses. Within this narrow scope, each model expresses a distinct attitude while adhering to consistent standards of protection and build quality.
Signature designs such as Toten and Dark Desire represent the most explicit expressions of the LØRZ aesthetic, combining dark visual themes, tartan fabrics, studded detailing, and uncompromising attitude with serious protective construction intended for real use rather than display.
LØRZ® delivers punk attitude with genuine protection, not as costume, but as equipment.
- Model Range
- Skinny, Flare, Toten, and Dark Desire form a narrow but recognisable range, each balancing fashion-led attitude with dependable instrument care.
- Protection
- Thick protective padding, structural reinforcement, soft non-scratch linings, and internal protection for headstock, bridge, and body areas are built into every model.
- Construction
- Durable outer materials, tartan fabric panels, metal rivets and studs, reinforced stress zones, reinforced base panels, and quality zippers give the collection its visual character and working durability.
- Carry System
- Ergonomic backpack straps and balanced carry handles support movement, touring, and repeated daily use without compromising the range’s visual identity.
Authorship
LØRZ® was designed and conceived by Martin I. Ritter.
His work is internationally recognised for reshaping how musical instrument bags and cases are designed, perceived, and valued. In 1996, he founded and created an eponymous instrument bag brand that permanently altered the landscape of instrument protection, establishing a new relationship between function, design, and authorship that influenced industry standards worldwide.
LØRZ® was conceived in 2009 as a focused and expressive continuation of this broader body of work, exploring instrument protection as identity and attitude while maintaining contemporary standards of construction and reliability.
Due to health-related circumstances, Martin I. Ritter stepped back from active commercial engagement. This site therefore exists as a preserved reference, documenting authorship, design intent, and a distinct chapter within a wider creative legacy, without defining its conclusion.
